About DEEF

Deep Ecology Environmental Forum — Research Centre

Who We Are

The Deep Ecology Environmental Forum (DEEF) is to enhance environmental education, research and support on behalf of preserving nature. DEEF carries out this mission primarily through academic seminar, symposium, workshops, publications and supports all kinds of national and global initiative to protect nature and save environment.

This forum is completely non-political, non-communal, non-profitable and utterly environmental, educational and research-based institution. It aims to collaborate advanced research in the fields of deep ecology, environmental philosophy, environmental ethics, environmental justice, climate rights, climate change and policy issues both national and international levels.

DEEF also seeks to address pressing social issues at both local and global contexts by fostering peace and promoting human values and virtues through international understanding, mutual respect, friendship, exchange, and cooperation among people worldwide. It serves as a platform for both formal and informal education, acting as a medium for positive change within individuals and communities by creating opportunities for meaningful, productive, and ecologically beneficial participation in society.

DEEF encourages inclusive ecological participation for all individuals, regardless of gender, skin colour, religion, nationality, age, ability, sexual orientation, social status, political views, or any other basis for discrimination, in the spirit of equality, dignity, and mutual respect.

The organization advocates for social and climate justice, human rights, sustainability, critical thinking, active participation, global citizenship, democracy, and intercultural learning. It also works to change anti-ecological prejudices and stereotypes while contributing to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the advancement of climate ethics.

Over the times, the forum’s work has taken multiple forms — seminar, talk, symposium, coalition and campaign development, planning publishing program, and inspiring people to the platform for preservation of nature. DEEF regularly offers certificate course on research methodology and publishes a research journal which mainly focuses the areas of climate change, deep ecology, environmental ethics, environmental philosophy and policy issues.
